About the Project:

This study introduces an innovative AI-powered feedback intervention designed to enhance students’ engagement, emotional experience in feedback. The intervention leverages advancements in ChatGPT, a pre-trained language model, to provide real-time, tailored feedback, simulating the dynamics of a natural student-tutor interaction. Students learn how to use ChatGPT to generate personalized feedback, which helps them engage with feedback and, in turn, enhances their positive emotional experience and academic performance. Additionally, teachers benefit from streamlined feedback processes and insights into student preferences, enabling more targeted support. This dual-impact framework not only improves writing outcomes but also enhances students’ engagement with and emotional well-being in response to feedback, positioning ChatGPT as a transformative tool in education.
