Project Name: Vis Depot: A Repository of Tools, Concepts, and Tutorials for Introductory Visualization
Grantee: Nicole Cote
Funding Cycle: 2019-2020
Project Status: In progress
About the Project:
This project proposes a free and open education resource (OER) for those who want to learn data visualization concepts, but have little or no background in coding or visualization. There is currently no single comprehensive resource that can direct such an audience to helpful tools, making it incredibly hard for those without experience to understand where to start. This OER will serve as a curated and critical repository of useful previously existing and freely available tools and tutorials, as well as some specifically designed tutorials and overviews, to get introductory non-technical students started with visualization. It will make use of its important connection to CUNY by prototyping with the Data Analysis and Visualization MS in mind, ultimately aiming to assist those within CUNY, in other universities, and the general public.
